Man Killed in NJ Truck Crash Caused by a Driver With a Record

Last month, we wrote about a truck driver who crashed into dozens of cars, through a police barricade, injuring three drivers and killing one. The truck driver was charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree reckless aggravated assault and second-degree manslaughter. He was believed to have been drunk during the truck crash. It has now been revealed the drunk truck driver has been arrested 55 times and violated his parole at least seven times. According to the prosecutors, the driver used fake Social Security numbers and has five convictions for felony offenses, including battery and domestic violence. Outraged victims and their families told ABC7 this driver should never have been on the road in the first place. A Fatal Truck Crash in New Jersey Has Drawn Attention to This Dangerous Road

Last month, a car merged into the left lane on Interstate 78 East and smashed into a truck hauling a trailer. The truck rolled several times and struck a New Jersey Department of Transportation truck. A passenger was killed, while a separate driver and a passenger both sustained serious injuries in this fatal truck crash. Not two weeks prior, a truck driver smashed into a bridge abutment on the same stretch of highway. The truck caught fire and the driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
