Country Star Troy Gentry Dies in South Jersey Helicopter Crash

Troy Gentry of the popular country music group Montgomery Gentry has died. The band, known for songs like “Something to Be Proud Of” and “Roll With Me,” consisted of Gentry and Eddie Montgomery, younger brother of ‘90s superstar John Michael Montgomery. Over the past 17 years, the group became one of country music’s most successful acts, with millions in album sales, more than 25 charting songs and ending Brooks and Dunn’s eight-year reign as CMA Awards Vocal Duo of the Year. Gentry was taking a helicopter tour of the area near a resort where he was set to play a concert on the night of September 8. While flying with pilot James Evan Robinson, something went wrong.
