Truck Driver Charged in Fatal New Jersey Crash

A truck driver has been charged with vehicular homicide following a truck accident on Route 130 in East Windsor, according to NJ Online. Robert W. Conover Jr., 52, is accused of failure to observe a signal and reckless driving that lead to an accident which killed Rangaro Sudhakara, 74, on May 15.

Conover was driving a truck for his concrete company north on Route 130 when he ran through a red light and collided with Sudhakara riding in his sedan. The accident remains under investigation. Police did not speculate as to what may have caused Conover to run the red light.

The police must have had a reason to suspect that Conover was negligent in order to press criminal charges. There is a chance that the driver was on his cell phone when he ran through the light.
