Five people are in the hospital after a fire truck accident in Lumberton, New Jersey, according to NJ.com. The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Route 38 and Smithville Road in Burlington County. Details about the accident are scarce, but it involved a fire truck responding to a call.
The truck ended up in a ditch after rolling over. None of the five injured are thought to be in life-threatening condition. All of the injured were volunteer firefighters. The roof of the truck was torn off. Reports indicate that the truck veered to avoid an oncoming car. The car continued without stopping but is not considered to be at fault in the accident, according to David Constantine, Burlington County Fire Coordinator.
