Driver Killed After Crashing Armored Vehicle On Turnpike

A driver of an armored truck died in a truck accident in New Jersey on the evening of December 7, according to the Wall Street Journal. The truck overturned after hitting a guardrail on the New Jersey Turnpike near the Garden State Parkway exit, according to New Jersey State Trooper Christopher Kay.

The driver, 45-year-old Kamrul Bhuiyan of Jamaica Queens, NY died at the scene. Another guard who was in the truck at the time—John Davidson, 45—was pulled out of the wreckage and rushed to Robert Wood University Hospital in New Brunswick. His injuries are not life threatening. Police secured the contents of the armored truck.

“We are cooperating with authorities investigating the accident,” said Joe Gavaghan, Garda director of corporate communications.

The accident is still under investigation. Traffic was delayed for six hours.
