Man Responsible for Hit-and-Run Surrenders

According to, the man responsible for a truck accident in which he fled the scene turned himself into police on July 19.

Sean Joseph Cook, 21, of Bensalem, was the driver of a dump truck that crashed into a Toyota Scion on July 16, injuring a woman. Police found the truck cab to be full of open beer bottles when they arrived on the scene. There was reportedly another man in the truck with Cook that has not yet been identified.

Cook surrendered to the police, although they had already received numerous tips naming him as the driver of the truck.  ’s bail was set at $150,000 by Bensalem District Judge Joseph Falcone. Cook is charged with aggravated assault by vehicle and fleeing the scene of an accident with injury, both of which are felonies.

Witnesses made calls to police about the erratic driving of the dump truck prior to the accident, claiming that Cook was driving too fast and blowing through stop signs without even slowing down.

Katrina Doelle, 23, of Burlington, New Jersey was the victim who was injured in the truck accident. She suffered massive head injuries and organ failure and remains in critical condition at Aria Health’s Torresdale Campus. Cook has provided a statement to police claiming he was driving at the time of the truck accident.
