One person died in a truck accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in the early hours of January 30, according to ABC News in New Jersey. The accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. when a big box truck ran into the guardrail and burst into flames in Mount Holly.
The driver, 67-year-old Joseph Gaudio, was able to safely exit the truck after it came to a stop. Unfortunately his wife, riding on the passenger side, was not able to escape the truck, as it was tipped over on the side she was riding on. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation and authorities are unsure what caused the driver to lose control of the truck. The weather conditions were foggy at the time of the accident and visibility was limited.
