Three Killed, Two Injured in Five-Truck Accident

A multiple-truck accident in Virginia killed three and injured two more on March 26, according to sources. A total of five trucks were involved in the truck accident in Powhatan County, Virginia. A dump truck carrying sludge crossed the center line, colliding head on with another truck transporting pine logs. The log truck rolled over, ran off the road and burst into flames.

Drivers of both trucks died from the impact, as well as a passenger in the log truck. After the collision, another truck, a Mack tractor-trailer, collided with the dump truck and overturned as well. A fourth commercial truck, also carrying sludge, then came by and hit the logs that had come to rest on the road before overturning as well. Finally, a fifth truck, hauling lumber, sideswiped the overturned log truck and hit the logs on the road. The drivers in the final three trucks suffered injuries but survived.

This is an example of how one accident can cause a chain reaction of repercussions. The original collision caused the other three trucks to wreck as well. If one of the drivers or trucking companies is found to be responsible for the accident, they will owe damages to the other drivers and companies.
